A non American will win the tour.
I thought you liked being controversial? This is just stating the obvious.
I thought I’d make sure that everyone knew an American would not win the tour. However, you’re correct, no logical, half minded person would predict an American to win the tour. Specifically, I think a Canadian will win the tour.
Thats a pretty broad prediction! Non-American…i guess that means no african american also?
Well, I’ll guess that a cyclist will win!!!
Specifically, I think a Canadian will win the tour.
Eh? Which tour are we talking about here? Tour de Beauce? Barry’s had pneumonia it turns out so he may not even make the tour (de france) team.
I think Lance will run a 2:35!
Amazing, someone actually knows something about the tour other than random facts about Lance. You couldn’t possibility be an American.
Brit in America. Not that we produce great roadies too often, but at least we can be smug about the track at the moment.
How many years have you guys been making that incorrect prediction?
Lance was always the favorite after the first win so that would be one year. We don’t yet know who “won” last year (sadly). Levi is not a realistic contender for the GC at the tour, the tour of california in early season with a doped-up basso as super-domestique is not the same as a 3 week grand tour, he’s fringe top 10 material at best. It’s not even worth discussing hincapie, horner etc in this context.
Valverde.

C’mon. I definitely don’t think he should be considered the favorite, but he could easily be in the mix. You say ToC is not the same as a 3 week grand tour, but Levi has a **great **record at grand tours. He’s finished in the top 10 at the TdF 3 times without ever having a strong team’s full support. He’s also finished 3rd in the Vuelta, giving him a better grand tour pedigree than many of the other contenders. It could be that he had an off year last year or it could mean that he’s on the decline, who knows?
It remains to be seen if he will turn out to be the strongest rider for Discovery at the Tour this year (Contador, Danielson, Popovych) but if he is you can’t completely dismiss his chances at a podium finish.
I will be staggered (not upset) if Levi wins it. I think it’s likely that popo or contador will be the GC guy for disco although they probably won’t publicly nominate one before the start (like last year). The vuelta always has a much weaker field than the tour so you can’t compare them that easily.
That said, given the state of things this year and last, we have no idea who will actually be in the field when they line up in London for the prologue so it could end up as mixed up and surprising as last year.
Show me their fridges and I will give you the winner’s name.
I can do better than that, I just need their dog’s names ![]()
.
Or mother in law’s names…how many girls they bring during the tour to have sex (along with beer…if I don’t know how beer there is, I can’t make any predicitions)…
it also helps to know how many vanishing twins you have (the more the merrier, hhu…the better)
I can also make predictions in toothpaste.
Make it sex with twin girls…then who cares who wins?
I see no reason why Levi wouldn’t be given decent odds for a contending role at the Tour.
I give Valve about a 20% chance of making the start. He’s implicated and it’s going to stick, methinks. I saw him as the big favorite now that he has cleaned up his TT skills. I guess Vino is the man now?
That leaves Vino, Kloden, Menchov, Evans, Levi, and Sastre…no one on that list is more than a half step faster than anyone else.
I think it’s a lock for Greg Lemond or Chuck Norris. Depending which one enters.
Vinokurov FTW!
