I was planning on buying a B16 this summer. It’s a great frame for the $ and the aerodynamics are the same as or comparable to much more expensive Felts.
But I recently found out that I have the chance to pick up a 2007 B2 from a shop that hasn’t been able to sell it yet. I’d end up paying about $400 more for the 2007 B2 than for the B16. I assume that’s worth it. The B2 has better components by far, and I think the frame is almost identical.
Here are my questions: Have there been any changes to the Felt’s design/geometry since 2007? It looks like the B16 downtube might be a bit deeper. Am I just imagining that (it might be due to the graphics) or is it actually the case? Does anybody know about the differences in the carbon fiber between the two bikes? Does either bike have a replaceable rear derailleur hanger? Have there been any improvements in other things since 07 that would make me think the B2 isn’t worth the extra $400? Anything else I should take into consideration?
Below are pics and specs.
Thanks for your help.
The B2 (2007):

Fork: Easton EC90 Aero
Wheels: Easton Vista SL
Dura Ace drivetrain stuff except crankset, which is FSA Krono
Tektro brake levers with Shimano Super SLR brakes
Vision alloy base bar with (I don’t know) aerobars
The B16 (2009)

Cheaper components, for the most part
Fork: Felt OEM (seems pretty good, though)
Wheels: Felt OEM (once again, seem decent)
105 drivetrain w/ obligatory DA shifters
FSA Gossamer crankset
No-name brakes
Felt non-aero base bar with Felt brand aerobars
