It might be early for some but I am planning for 2005. My big goal is the 2005 Prairie Man Long Course Tri. I have to wait for better schedules but I hope to do at least 1 Olympic and one sprint before.
I’ll probably do a half ironman sometime in the spring/early summer. In a perfect world I’d have an Olympic distance race the week before the 1/2 IM so I can qualify for worlds. After the IM take a little downtime and then start training up for age group worlds or if by some bizzare stroke of luck Ironman Hawaii.
My goal this season is to make it to the nationals for olym distance in my age group (20-24). I might not make it but I figure I’ll give it my all and if I don’t I will have at least in the process learned new things bout myself.

I am a shoe in at the Prairie Man Long Course Tri
to win the fat bastard, Ducati lusting, Ze Gopha worshipping, moron division.

Good results at local duathlons, especially the danish duathlon championships (Top 10 overall cross-duathlon, agegroup medal short course (10-40-5) duathlon). And maybe, if everything works well, a good agegroup result at the duathlon world championships (long distance, in Italy).

Doing that one too. This past year had big plans to go faster than the year before, and ended up 25 minutes slower. This year I’m just doing it.

This past year had big plans to go faster than the year before
I had a similar plan…
Jump from sprints to Oly (not too many in New Mexico) so probably 3 Oly races, 2 Du’s, a sprint/F1 series in Roswell, maybe Rage in the Sage in Las Vegas (so that my parents can watch me race), 4 TT’s (maybe do a couple of these as TTT if I’m good enough to hang with the local group), 10K cross country on 1/1/05 (volunteering for packet pickup the day before to give a little back).
Drop a minimum of 10 pounds too both make me faster and less heinous looking in a speedo, lets call it public service.
Finish making a pair of barefoot running socks (Mr. Tibbs has agreed to beta test with me) but this has proved much more difficult than originally expected.
I’m very much looking forward to the 05 season and planning for mine is already well underway, the training schedule drawn up and I’m already three weeks into the base phase for my A race. So far it looks like this:
Escape from Alcatraz - June 12
Ironman Austria - July 3 - A Race
Monaco Half Ironman - Sept 4
Great Floridian - Oct 22
On top of this I’ll add a couple of Olympic races (yet to be confirmed) and maybe The Longest Day ironman distance tri on July 24th but I’m a bit concerned it’s too close to IM Austria to be workable. If not I’ll do a leg of a relay team, hopefully not the marathon! The London Triathlon fits in really nicely (Aug 6th) but I did it this year and didn’t really enjoy it. It might be because I did the event on a sprained ankle (charity money was resting on it so I had to do it, wrecking my UKHIM build up) but it’s a fast course so might be my chance to get under 2:30. My club, Team Outrageous, run a set of six mid week sprint races that I might do too, they’re a great speed session. Or maybe I’ll settle with the four and be happy with that!
1.be healthy
