Today I´ve been riding with the Hed Aero Clip (I´ve cuted the High S Bends 2 cm back and 1 cm front). the pads are very little, but enough to go aero less than 5 kms. Maybe the big pads are more comfortable and aero, because I can put´em closer.
Do you think High S Bends without risers could be better for tall riders than low S bends?
Thanks, And sorry about my english (trying to improve it)
I’ve been riding the Hed Clip Lite for 2-3 weeks now and I was also very uncomfortable at first. I replaced Syntace SL’s on a standard basebar with the Hed’s (Shallow bend, no risers) on a Vision Base bar. Without moving any spacers around this set up dropped my front end quite a few cm’s and I was extremely uncomfortable and initially cursing myself for getting rid of my tried and true SL’s. After a few rides though I started to jive with my new position and I am now basically as comfortable as I was before and I am certain that I have a smaller frontal profile.
Some set-up notes: I could not get my pads as wide on the new set-up as I had them previously with my syntace bars so this was one cource of discomfort initially. I used the holes on the pads so that they were as wide and as far back (closer to bike, further from shifters) as possible. I consider myself tall as well. (74 inches or about 188 cm’s tall) Good luck.
