19mm tires... 190lbs... psi?

been riding my hed3’s with the 19mm aw tt and latex tubes for 2 weeks now. first time on this setup. the tire feels kind of squishy? i’m inflating to 120psi, should i go higher? first IM is this weekend. thanks in advance.

I have been in your spot. I would stay with 120lbs psi. Aero wheels tend to give that feeling. I have HED 3’s. HED 3 disc, Stinger Carbonlites, and currently the JET 4 stallion build for bigger guys. Superior wheels. They are probably just busy working for you.

Be sure you air up before each ride to avoid riding with 90 psi.

How much do you weigh? If you are 170+ you might consider going up to 135psi*

*Note: mfgs. place a maximum pressure on the tire sidewall that they don’t want you to exceed. It is typically calculated at 1/2 the pressure that will blow the tire off the rim.

thanks for the feedback, i will test both out tomorrow.

I weigh about the same, sometimes more and sometimes less.

I suggest that the squishy feeling is simply from using latex tubes and good tires. All of the tire inflation data I have seen indicates that you will be increasing rolling resistance if you start going over 120 psi.

Squishy is probably a good thing to be feeling. Better than jarring and bouncing. Are you having difficulty going around corners?

Think of the difference between a Lincoln Town Car going 100 miles per hour compared to a Jeep going 60 miles per hour on the same roadway. Which “feels” faster based on ride quality? But, which is actually going faster?

that squishy feeling is latex tubes. it is a good sign =)

it is a bit disconcerting until you get used to it.

The first couple times I felt like I was being sucked into the ground!
