Does anyone know where I can get my hands on the 1989 Ironman video? There is just something about that Allen v. Scott showdown that gets this ironman purist excited.

I’d suggest calling Ironmanlive.com at 800-IRONMAN… They do not have 1989 on the web site, but they may be able to point you in the right direction

are the dvd’s from ironmanlive better than what they show on NBC meaning do they take it from a sport perspective instead of a human interest prespective?

They ones I have (from Ironmanlive.com) are the same as the network coverage… with the illustrious Al Trautwig… They stick to the human interest focus.

wow, i thought for sure that the DVD’s would give better coverage than the TV special.

i’ve sent out about a dozen copies of the 89 race over the last several years through this site. i’ve never charged a dime but told recipients to pass on the good karma by making copies for others who asked.

so… somebody better step the F*ck up. please do not pm me.

Will pay shipping, handling, cost of video and hand over my mom’s coveted post-workout recharge brownies. But seriously, I am taking 4 new soon-to-be ironmen for a training weekend and wanted to show it to them. I have search the web all day to no avail. According to Ironman, its not available for purchase.

Put me in the “love to have a copy” camp. I’ve also been searching for the 25th Anniversary Retrospective and Race put out by Ironman productions a few years back. No luck for me, let us know if you find a source!

I’ve got a crappy VHS copy I copied right off the TV, commercials & all. Problem is I’m not sure if the VHS player works anymore.

Thanks so much for sharing. This is perfect entertainment for my post suffer-fest couch session. Nothing like You-Tubed classic triathlon + Frozen Blueberries over Casein Protein. Haha, I wish I was kidding.
