demanded ROM from the crank circle obviously remains the same, but the ease at which your muscles stretch decreases. Dan mentioned some study with regards to it a while ago, but he was talking about setting the saddle so the knee extension is a tad below 150 at bdc to compensate.
this might be a good time to have adjustable Power Cranks on:-)

I know I know ![]()
But we are talking 6lbs lighter bike (imagine how much you can eat at the Chinese buffet
), a (lot) more areo bike… a (lot) more responsive bike… And a huge smile on my face (until the back pain kicks in which could be somewhat reduced with a couple of Advils
)
We are not talking a “mere” 2.5 mm here, we are taking big time makeover ![]()
See you in LP… Leaving tomorrow…
Fred.
Fred, I hear you. The Lucero is certainly a rocket, and it has the Dave Harju rocket heritage to go with it! OK, whatever you do, spend at least 30-60 min each day this week riding, bolted to the aero position. Pretend the basebars do not exist (Natasha style).
See you in LP.

agree with all the other ‘race like you train’ stuff. it also seems like making any sorts of changes now would increase the chances of something just not quite working right. if your crank arms have stayed on through training, they’ll stay on through the race.
make sure your wheels are true, your brakes aren’t rubbing, and your qr levers are well closed. leave the cranks alone.
