Anyone know of any 73 degree stems that come with a 26mm clamp diameter? The only one I’ve found is the Ritchey Pro, but I was wondering if there are other options. Riding an 80 degree STA, along with short legs (low saddle height), and spaghetti man arms mean that even with -10 degree stem and no spacers I can’t get enough drop for a good TT position.
Look into Salsa stems.
Off the top of my head - Salsa, Ritchey, Ritchey adjustable. Oval adjustable and maybe Profile. Actually, any adjustable stem will do. I had a Salsa, 130mm 73/107 that worked great for years. David K
Anyone have a pic of a pike w/either a -10 or -17 rise stem? I’ve been looking to put one on my bike also, but was wondering what it would look like. Thanks.
Ritchey.
also try the specialized adjustable stems, on which you can vary the degree.
Oval Concepts
.
profile makes a -20 stem
.
I use Oval Concepts; very happy with it.

no pic, but a bike (with a 73 deg. head tube) with a " -17 deg." stem installed would have the extension portion of the stem appearing exactly level.
That’s what I was hoping for. I also saw Cavendish’s bike with a -10 track stem. That also looked pretty level.
i have one, 100mm, -17 degrees, pretty sure its a bontrager…
what size do you need?
also check outprofile, thats what i am using right now, the H20 stem, i think -25 degrees.
Ritchey Pro. I was in the same boat as you trying to find a high-end stem and this is what I went with on my P2C. Not as sexy as the Ritchey WCS 4-axis I had before, but it works just fine. I’ll try to locate a pic or just take one.
Yup profile does have one but naaa the profile quality is not very good on those low end H2Os but the higher end stuff like the cobra is very nice, but the cobra has no such angles. Better off with the ritchey pro http://www.universalcycles.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=18313&category=630, I’m using it and there is nothing wrong with it, also you can look up the dimension I was riding the steeper version and was happy with it, it’s still in my tool box http://www.universalcycles.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=11187&category=630, you also have the oval option very good / excellent build quality but a little more money. I strongly advise against the adjustable kind, they do get loose from time to time and its annoying not to mention in my own opinion not safe. Easton also makes a nice one but hard to find, and salsa I think has the same poor finish quality as the lower end profiles.
Also if there is a good TRI-BIKE fitter in you area chances are his going to have a good load of all the lengths and angles.
Hope it helps
Forgot to mention, don’t know what aerobars you’re riding but I got a lower stack aerobar and it helped more than the stem… for a lot more cash! but I was never happy with the ones that came with my bike anyway so changing them was something I wanted… and I’m glad I did!
What aerobar did you go for? Any idea which aerobar has the lowest stack?
HED aerobars have a very low stack.
Easton, but the Hed original bar has lower stack, the new HED bars I don’t know (sorry). And also the profile http://www.profile-design.com/profile-design/products/aerobars/carbon-aerobars/sonic-csx.html I think is as low as you’re going to get… bad news with the profile is that the shim that you need to use if you have a 26.1 bar will rise it a little but if you have 31.8 bars that thing is low.
