i’ve got 14 weeks to an ironman distance race. what key workouts do i need to get in between now and then

It’s only 8 weeks until IMC. Think I’ll lay low for a couple more weeks and then start some real serious training!

Since you didn’t provide much of Information it’s hard to say how far, how long should you go? Also, are you a sub hour swimmer? Under 6h biker? How fast can you run for a Marathon? What’s you further run so far, bike and swim? How much time do you have for training?

There’s many schools of how to build mileage (some say build for 3 weeks then 1 week back) others is 2 -1, etc.

  • There’s 6 Key workouts basically per week
    • Swim Intervals (pace close to your 1500m)
    • Swim Long (Long set x times 400’s,500’s, 800’s up to 1500’s)
    • Bike Intervals (pace for an Olympic distance)
    • Bike Long (up to 6h-7h your longest
    • Run Intervals (miles sets at 10km pace)
    • Run Long (up 2h30-3h)
