Well, really 9.5 if you take out the time for my presentation. And 7 if you take out airport and travel time. That said, WHAT should I do with it? I’ve never been. My itinerary so far is:
9-10 Run from my hotel to the Sports Basement at the Presidio along the Embarcadero, through Fisherman’s Wharf, the Aquatic Park and Fort Mason. Contemplate doing Alcatraz someday…
10-11 Shop at Sports Basement, and find a cab back to the hotel
11- 11:30 Get back to the conference hotel
11:30 - 12:30 Clean up, eat lunch, prepare for presentation
12:30 - 3:00 Sit in my conference session
3:00 - 4:00 ???
4:00 - 6:00 Travel to airport and fly away…
Thoughts? Should I do a round trip run and skip Sports Basement? Can I get across the city back to my hotel in a reasonable amount of time in a cab? What should I do from 3-4?

Highly doubtful this timing will work. You’ll not “find a cab” out at Sports Basement as they don’t often drive out there. You could call one to pick you up, but if you have to get back on time, I’d make other arrangements.
Dang. That’s the part of the plan I’m worried about. My presentation is at the Hilton on O’Farrell Street. I’d hate to go all the way to San Francisco and miss out on Sports Basement. My co-worker had the excellent idea that I could take the cab from my hotel to Sports Basement, and then run back. But then how to carry all my new gear… Sad. I think I’m going to have to nix that part of the day.
