I have both an 11-23 and 12-25 Ultegra 6600 cassette. Can I use the 11 tooth cog and lock ring on the 12-25 (after removing the 12 tooth cog and lock ring) and make an 11-25 cassette? Seems OK on the work stand at initial glance.

Nope. Tried with a 11-23, 12-26. Won’t fit securely.
lol, oops, I just re-read your question. You may need to add a spacer to the rear of the cluster.
Sweet! I’m gonna try it out. 11-25 may be just what I’m looking for. The 11 will only be used now and then, so the other 9 gears should work fine…hopefully:)
ohhh!! you are going to add the gear to the other nine?? I thought you were substituting the 11 for the 12! now, I don’t know how that is going to work.
No. Both cassettes are 10 spd. I’m swapping the 12 for an 11 on the 12-25 to make an 11-25.
Ahhhh, gotcha… Now, if that’s the case…it may work!
