That’s pretty much the same pose that I use to put my cats’ dishes down
I do that when I’m laying a brown egg
That tracks.. I had 30” vertical in college and 30 years later am sitting around 20”. Sigh.
Regarding bench press/push-ups. I avoid push-ups and flat bar bench because of my elbows. Dumbbell bench only. I also read an article on strength training for swimming that flat bar bench leaves athletes prone to injury vs. dumbbell, I’m guessing because you don’t have fixed points of contact. I can’t remember where it was, maybe buried on SwimSwam but I can’t find it.
Day 3 done. Highlights how little time they take to do, I’ve knocked some out while heating up the kids frozen pancakes in the microwave…and even done some to entertain my youngest while he potty trains ![]()
Day 9 done. 900 done 9100 to go .
I’m a couple days behind you but 7 days done here, and 40 pushups done this morning after my run. I’ll knock the rest out throughout the day.
I’m also a couple of days behind you.
It’s now become a routine part of my warm up before training.
Yeah, its a good warmup before running. I have not tried before swimming. Probably would feel dead at least for 400m
50 days done, knocked them out before we headed to the airport for a week in the Caribbean and missing a big snowstorm while we’re gone. I’m steadily getting better at knocking out 40-50 at a time, and actually quite enjoying it
I am not sure I have ever failed at something harder than this. I didn’t even do day 1
Yeah, I noted I was on day 50 on a biz trip to Europe this week on Feb 19th. I have kept the first 50 days as sets of 10 or 15 to build out the base and staying far away from any “failure mode” where my form breaks down (it’s not great but getting better). I even had a 50km XC ski race last Sunday, finished it, drove back home, showered, got my gear for biz trip, went to airport and realized that I was “out of time for the day” as there would be no way of doing them on the plane without doing them in the galley on a dirty floor, so I just got them done in the terminal, along with 200 mountain climbers and 100 body weight squats. While that was tough after racing, it all worked out OK and I was going to be sitting for 7.5 hrs trans atlantic anyway doing nothing, so lots of time to rest.
That’s dedication!
