100/100 Airing of the Grievances Thread - 2024 Edition

< I should’ve thought of this earlier in the Winter >

Yesterday evening, D’Wife & I went for a walk around our developments after work, as we do on days when neither of us feels like going to the gym

It was a little breezy (though not ‘Thumb Of God’ windy) and still holding onto a Winter chill - gloves and earmuffs were brought along, just in case - but the sun was still up; for a while anyway

As we were finishing our loop, with about half a mile to get home, D’Wife asked “How long is this route?”

“Two and a half miles,” I answered “but I’m gonna add a quarter mile, for our troubles, since Winter doesn’t seem want to go away”

“You can do that?” she asked, unclear of The Rules regarding ‘rounding up’

“I’m gonna call it a ‘Weather Tax’”

Rule #31 - The Weather Tax

If you find conditions outdoors more challenging than to your liking (torrential rain, blizzards, sleet, ‘Thumb of God’ wind, sub-freezing or excessive heat warning temps, or just plain “this is no fun”), you are allowed to add a “Weather Tax” and increase your ‘claimed’ mileage by up to 10%

This DOES reinforce the “All Runners are Liars” meme brought upon us by Bart Yasso, however, but - so what? FTG LOL
