10 wks to a 70.3?

Can it be done without killing oneself as well as under 5hrs? Thoughts…

absolutely. ride your bike lots, run 4-5 times a week with one 90 min run per week and swim a little if you want. breaking 5 is easy.

Starting from what?

Starting from what?

Athlete all my life…6ft, 155lbs, runner for my college 400m hurlder (52.97) but can do the distance stuff alright 5K in Kuwait (17min 15sec) 8K (28:06), 10K (36:00), 10 Miler (spur of the moment, 1:07)…diver in high school if that counts for anything, bike on the ol’ stationary schwinn in Kuwait in as aero as a position as I can (longest 1hr…45-50 min. in aero). I ask this because I will not be able to do proper Triathlon training until NAIA Outdoor Nationals is done sooo yeah that leaves me aboot 10 wks until Steelhead next year…given the race date doesn’t change too much from this year. Really would like to be in the 4:30 range, but that might be a stretch…

P.S. I have never done a Trithlon

I was going to say YES. I had a good base going during the winter and only had a serious 10 weeks before my first 1/2. I went just under 5 hours. It sounds like you have a great background in running and endurance in general. So I would say its very possible. But… then you said you have never done a triathlon. There usually is a learning curve, do you even have a bike? Its still possible.

No bike, read my signature ;-), although fortunately when the time comes I am not bound by a set dollar amount…yeah you guessed I am going to go wild.

You can DO it! Oh, and change the signature line where the word “ain"t” has an apostrophe instead of quotes! The grammar police will come get you!

Nice pick up…yeah, I’m an idiot.
