10 months of 2025 done - NOVEMBER goals

Always the regular cones for me, when I’m buying an ice cream at a stand or something.

If I’m eating it at home, it’s always a bowl, mainly because it isn’t an often thing and if we kept cones around, they’d be stale by the second or third cone.

Plus, you can fit more in a bowl, so there’s that…

1.) Ice cream serving size is the vessel that it came home in. Which is why I do not tend to buy ice cream at the grocery store…better to just go somewhere and get a cone.

2.) Current November goal: either land a couple additional digital marketing clients, or needing to add back a corporate gig on top of my ST work (mine evaporated when we moved out west this summer). Student loan bills don’t pay themselves…

ice cream is one of the few things I am food-snobby about. I worked at a local make your own ice cream place for a few years so I have strong opinions about ice cream quality.

Stale cones are not good. A fresh cone is a very important part of the ice cream.

I’m a cup guy when buying ice cream on The Boardwalk. An aspect of my (debunked) OCD, is that I am “highly mess-averse” and comes don’t support that. Plus, seagulls can get aggressive

mess-averser here on sprinkles, idk why people like those. Less messy on ice cream in a dish I guess, but on a cone sprinkles are awful cuz of the mess!

I’m also a committed hard serve girl. soft serve is an every once in awhile, and I dislike choc van twist bc it just mixes and you can’t taste the individual flavors well. I will eat a peanut butter soft serve every once in awhile. I love peanut butter but that’s the only way I like it as an ice cream flavor base - not into hard serve pb based flavors. the exception to my soft serve aversion is Normal ice cream in slc - that is good soft serve.

also, given my druthers, ice cream should be 3/4 ice cream and 1/4 thick fudge ripple.

1 day in a row healthy coping after a rough T and W. not sure of month score…. worst month this year in terms of using that unhealthy coping mechanism but I never have to do it again, I am capable of coping healthfully.

Here, we call those “Jimmies”

When I was a kid in CT, they called them “ants”

Sprinkles are rainbows.

Jimmys are chocolate.

We’re ice cream compatible. Cup or cone?, the answer is always cone. And you get to eat the container!

Toppings not necessary…they detract from the ice cream.

Speaking of ice cream, noticed Ben & Jerry’s has a couple of risqué flavor names recently…. Netflix and Chilled; Caramel Sutra.

those flavors have been around forever!

2 days in a row w/o the unhealthy coping skill

Interesting. I only noticed those when I saw them in the pre packed containers in the fridge thing. I don’t think I’ve seen them in the scoopable displays.

I had the schweddy balls flavor (despite how that sounds )

ps - Good on you to start another streak to build on…

3 day streak!

I’m going to try to get rolling again on my diet improvement. Starting the week of Thanksgiving probably isn’t the best plan, but it is what it is.

I had four days in a row when I woke up… then used the unhealthy skill today. I’m so sick of myself. But I learned some important lessons today about having a plan for the day and more structure… particularly important as I’m traveling for Thanksgiving and things are likely to be even more unstructured than normal. But I can impose structure, it’s ok to do that.

if that all doesn’t make sense dont worry about it … just trying so hard to get back to NOT using this skill. I was doing so so well until July. And I CAN get back there.

@jeffa we both can do it!

I hear ya… I’ve had a couple of days of more food and less activity. Starting each day fresh.

Yeah, lack of structure is a killer for me!

evening not perfect… went downstairs without a plan. Making progress but not perfect and still mad at self.

This has been a rough month but I am happy to say I have 2 days in a row w/o the unhealthy coping skill.

That stinks, Doc - wish you were having a better month. Hope it gets better from here!
