10 months of 2025 done - NOVEMBER goals

How was your Oct?

What are your Nov goals? Check in daily / weekly / whatever helps you

goal was to not use a particular unhealthy coping skill. I used it 5 days in Oct. Worst month I’ve had in about two years. I’ve reached out for real time support too, I’m not totally dependent on you people… and I had 468 days in a row , a streak that ended mid July, so I am very knowledgeable about how to not use that unhealthy coping skill. Just in case anyone was worried.

I’m committed to a Nov without it! And am 1 day in a row without it as did well yesterday.

Glad to hear you reached out to others and understand about your unhealthy coping skill. He’s to continuing on after the end of your streak.

My goal this month is to just get back on the bike more. Eating healthier, but need to get more motivated for the bike. I will be working on finishing out my basement, with an added pain cave this winter, so that should be some good motivation.

I know I don’t post enough, Doc, but I do follow.

I’ll make you a deal: you don’t use your unhealthy coping mechanism, I’ll bring you some ice cream. Deal?

I’ve been struggling a lot the past six weeks and have a lot of shame in the increased frequency of using the unhealthy coping skill… hence the fact I’ve been more quiet. I had another get back on track day yesterday so 1 day in a row, not sure of x/15 for month.

I have an appt Wed that I am hoping will help more.

@TheRef65 @jkstevens how’s your month been so far?

Crap by my standards, but that’s due to long hours and traveling for work. Did get a run in last week up in Canada: only 2-1/2, but it was something which is better than nothing, so I’ll take it.

Been trying to keep up when I can, sounds like you’ve been having an Ok week, doc? Hope things steadily get better for the rest of the year for ya!

And thanks for asking…

  • Jeff

I’ve sort of had to put my food goals on hold while I deal with my ankle injury. It was feeling better, but it flared up again, worse than before. I’m still making a somewhat conscience effort to be on good eating behavior, but I’m not currently tracking closely until I get back to other forum stuff.

Thanks for asking Doc. It’s been up and down but staying steady. Our family just got some potentially really bad news last week so that will probably determine how the rest of the month goes.

@jkstevens things “steadily getting better” is a wonderful thing to wish. Thank you.

@jeffa I am sorry your ankle flared again. Achilles? I can’t recall if you’ve shared more details about what it is speciically.

@TheRef65 I’m sorry there’s some potentially really bad news. We’re here for you if you need it.

Well, in a perfect world, a dish of ice cream would fix everything in perpetuity. If only…

  • Jeff

if only, indeed.

I don’t understand people who want ice cream in a dish, though - I’m a committed cone girl (cake cone please, waffle if I am feeling really deserving of something indulgent). I like to be able to lick my ice cream.

I hadn’t really shared details because I didn’t think it was a big deal. Maybe just a touch of tendinitus in my achilles. I gave it a few days and everything seemed okay, but then during a run I had really sharp pain in my calf, almost like a calf cramp that wouldn’t go away. Went to the sports doc… no serious damage. He just thought I was off balance when I was running that was putting extra pressure on my right ankle. He pointed out some wear pattern on my sneaks that confirmed this. It was interesting because being off balance was something I thought might be happening, but I convinced myself it was just in my head. My right foot is actually pointing outward, like duck feet, but my left is straight. I’m going to PT this week to get some exercises. Also, there is another sports doc having a special on running gait analysis that I might take advantage of.

Gonna post this here

oh, I’m just always curious what hurts and where for people - had enough injuries I can usually be helpful, or at least some times
