'09 Specialized BG S-Works Road Bike Shoe.Can they be a tri shoe respectively?

Bringing up an older thread instead of starting another one.

Anyone using the Lake CX330C? Boa System but dial is in the back. Not a big fan of the single strap Tri-shoes, looking for something I can use on both road and TT bike.

Tried the BG S-Works and just can’t drop 300 bucks on shoes, the lakes are 1/2 the price.

Don’t leave my shoes clipped on in T1 but do ride on top of them coming into T2
I’ve used them both. Great shoes. Both good as tri shoes, though the ratcheting takes a bit more turns than you think, so probably not the best for short course. I’ve actually got a comparison of the two I’m writing for the main site. But I can answer any questions in the interim. The Lakes, being real leather (kangaroo), are quite a warm shoe. Something to consider for hot days.

Agreed, super fast. I’ve been using them this way for the last year… been telling Specialized they need to put a tab on the back and can call it a tri shoe… of course, that would be at the expense of their actual tri shoe. Biggest benefit is the mouth falls open super-wide the instant you pull the BOA open, meaning it’s unreal easy to get your foot out and onto your shoe when headed into T2.
