Hey all,
I was just wondering what the big differences there were between the 07 and 08 versions of the slr t1. I’m currently riding the 07 version and it feels relatively good aside from the obvious point pressure from riding the noise but tolerable.
I was looking at selle italia’s new saddle lineup and couldn’t help but to notice the newer 08 version. Just wondering what other people thought about it. I"m content with my 07 version and i know how that saying goes, “if it ain’t broke, don’t bother” (or something like that) but i’m just as curious as any normal human being in new equipment.
What are your guys and gals thoughts, any input would be much appreciated?
i have to admit i haven’t ridden many miles on the older model, but the new one rocks! the glossy sides are a little slicker than normal leather, thus less prone to chafing etc., while the rubber strip in the middle gives enough grip so you’re not slipping towards the bars all the time.
i really like the newer SLR T1s. i probably wouldnt spend extra money for the new version unless the old model is done though …
Thanks for the reply, yeah I’ll probably end up sticking with my current slr t1 (07 version) and ride it out for however long possible. I get some point pressure after an 1.5-2hrs of riding mostly aero and on the nose but my focus is the sprint/olympic w/ the occasional 70.3’s thrown in. But when the time comes for a new saddle, the 08 version of the t1 will likely be the replacement.
can you slide the saddle forward, about 1 cm or so? if not, pedal harder. it’s an easy way to take pressure off the butt
(it still hurts though, but more in your legs)
I have shoved forward as far as possible. the nose is about 1cm behind the BB. According to the person that fit me, I’m riding effectively at about 80 degrees. You are right about how going faster and harder actually takes some pain off the taint.
Riding the nose of this saddle though feels much better than the tri stryke elite which I rode on last year.
