It looks like the 2008 and 2009 P2C are pretty much the same except for price. I see that the crank was upgraded slightly. Am I missing anything? Any real reason to buy a 2009 over a 2008? Does it come down to a color preference?

Dura Ace or Ultegra.
I thk that’s what makes up the price dif.
It looks like that’s pretty much what it comes down to. I suppose the 2009 will come with Dura-Ace 7900 shifters and derailleurs if you got the DA package. Many of the 2008s have the 3T Funda Pro fork already…
I’ve been comparing the 08 DA with the 09 DA and the 08 Ultegra with the 09 Ultegra. After reading Tom D.'s write up, it sounds like the Ultegra component level will work just fine for me. I just don’t like the blue/silver 09 Ultegra. So I think I’m trying to decide between an 08 Ultegra and an 09 DA with about a $700 difference.
I was in the same position as you last year. I bought the Ultegra and used the cash saved for race wheels. Would absolutely make the same decision again.

When it was my turn earlier this year, I decided the DA wasn’t much of an upgrade over the Ultegra since they actually share most of the components. One of the differences used to be the fork, but now they should all be the same 3T. I ended up just getting a bare frame and building it up myself so I could avoid a case of Parts Swap Fever later on.
You know what I would do??
I would buy MY 3-month old P2c that only has about 250 miles on it and has Dura-ace and the 3T Funda fork, and I would buy it for a price we can negotiate, but one that I promise would be well below the price of the Ultegra bike 
I want to buy the new Look… because when it comes to bikes, I’m partial to a pretty euro rig.
