Raised the saddle 1 cm
Saddle forward 1 cm
Armpads forward 3 cm

Think your bike might be a size smaller than I'd prefer.

i would like to see you riding in that video for a longer period of time, at race cadence, and at race effort. however, based only on what i see, i have 2 comments:

1. you may or may not be 100 percent of the way there, but if not you're 90 percent of the way there. good position.

2. there seems to be a lot of flies buzzing around your head.

Mostly short TT's between 15 and 40k.
Did a 100k ride and the back doesn't hurt.
This position is more comfort then fast I think.

it looks fast to me. comfortable can be the most important component of fast.

I’m in agreement. This bike looks one size small.

I had to choose size 56 or 58. Both would fit said Felt and my lbs. So I choose the smaller one.

this was my position on my old bike, if i lower the stack 3cm i got the same height as on my old bike.
It looks that on the Argon18 my head is much lower then on my current bike.

i have changed the saddle height 1cm as recommend. that did drop the head a bit. ( have a static photo, no rollers at home that has a thru axle adapter so i dont now if it has any value)

Saddle is a bit too high. Drop it 5 mm (and maybe the cockpit too) and bring it forward another 5 mm. You’re closer.

Trent,

I'm curious. Would you make the same recommendations if his main focus was doing IMs?

Frankly, I didn’t even read to know what his goals are. Not saying that doesn’t matter, just that it doesn’t change my recommendations much.

Changed it again.
Saddle 0.5cm lower, cockpit -5mm and reach +5mm

Amateur question for you, trent, etc: would you learn more from seeing the rider at a normal cadence and power output? Looks like he's only just getting rolling...

Also general complaints (whinges): make sure camera is level and in landscape not portrait!

(that said, it looks pretty good to me too)

Not an amateur question at all.

And the answer is sometimes, yes. When people get going and ride with power they often change where they sit on the saddle. And sometimes fit changes need to be made to accommodate that movement. Others might even change where they sit on the saddle only when they are outside (seen it a few times but it's not that common, from what I've seen) versus on the trainer.

But most of the time, anatomical saddles will encourage a rider to stay put because it hurts in every position except the one the rider likes. So a quick look like those offered in this thread can be pretty informative.

One other note - occasionally I'll see a rider that, over a longer period of time (months or even years) has changed where they like to sit. And that means the fit needs to change to accommodate. It's why it's a good idea to get refit every now and then.

Your hands look really high, compared to how I ride. Do your extensions go lower? Looks like they are curved upwards by design. I can hit turns pretty nicely in my drops - compared to other triathletes I see on the course. I suspect this would be tougher if my hands were high like yours are.

They are indeed curved, Drag2zero arm rests. The high hands position is a bit more relaxed then the normal position. I am not riding uci races so I can use this position
