Anyone have any input (good/bad) on any specific companies out there that will transport your sports gear for you and have it waiting at your arrival?

I'm actually thinking about skis, not bikes, but it's the same concept. I read last night that most of the airlines are now charging $25 each way for any luggage over 50 lbs, and I think my skis and the wife's, plus poles and assorted crap I usually stick in that bag might get us to 50lbs. Also, we have a very short layover, possibly resulting in bags missing the connection, so I'm going to look into just having them out there waiting for me.
