slippage under load
Hey ST, I have an issue I need some advice on (duh right). Anyway, I have Wahoo Kickr Core on my winter bike which has QXL rings. I ride mostly on the small ring and middle of the cassette on the rear for easy of use for ERG mode. I recently bought a Sunrace cassette and I have some issues with shifting, primary where I have to sometimes shift twice to get into the gear or it seems the chain slips under load. The chain is new as well as the cassette, so I guess I have to adjust the gears a bit to stop this from happening. If anyone has a good video showing how to do this that would really helpful. I am on Shimano 105 11 speed. Thanks!!

There could be a few things at play here.

1. How old is your chain? Slippage can mean that your chain is old and stretched out. A new chain might help this.
2. A rear derailleur adjustment would be worth a shot considering you have a SunRace cassette and a Shimano shifters/derailleurs. Here is a good video on how to adjust the rear derailleur https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkZxPIZ1ngY

Try those 2 things and let us know if either of those help. If not, might need a Shimano cassette on the Kickr.

Yeah sounds like it could be a derailleur issue. I recently experienced the same thing and had to get a new derailleur at my LBS.

Probably just needs a tweak of the RD cable tension to account for the new cassette probably having a slightly different offset.

Easy trick is that turning the cable adjuster on the derailleur left (anticlockwise viewed from the rear) moves the derailleur to the left, and vice versa.

Park Tool website is good for instructions. https://www.parktool.com/...erailleur-adjustment

Thanks for that one-quarter turn or so counter clockwise and the problem is gone. :)
