power vs. speed interactive analysis
Quote | Reply
HI folks,

I thought you might enjoy this power vs. speed interactive analysis I put together:

https://www.gribble.org/...g/power_v_speed.html

I posted this a few years back, but did some updates over the past weeks so that you could model tailwind or downhills as well...

Enjoy!

If you want to ride at velocity (40) km/h, you must apply 16428.73 watts of power.

Um. OK.

where did you get that? Maybe you changed some of the parameters wrongfully?

To maintain a velocity of 40.08 km/h in these conditions, you must pedal with 326.12 watts of power.

I changed the speed in the box to a round number (40) and the power went wacko...

edit: tinkering more, I see that if you don't type in the "point something" then the number goes nuts.
40 = bad
40.0 = OK
It only does this in metric...

Ha! Your aero position must be really bad. ;)

Kidding, of course. Nice find, it's a javascript string-to-number bug in my code. I fixed it; please take a look.
