neoprene-free wetsuits? do they exist?

Dan? Emilio? Monty?

An acquaintance apparently has some kind of skin reaction to neoprene, causing breakouts on her skin and face. Is there such a thing as a neoprene-free triathlon wetsuit?

Not sure if she'd react poorly to Yulex as well, but there's Patagonia.

DeSoto use something called GreenGoma rubber in their wetsuits, which they say is not petroleum-based like other wetsuits. Perhaps this will make a difference for your friend? I believe they have a pretty generous trial policy. Might be worth checking out. I'm very happy with my T1 wetsuit, though I can't honestly say I notice much of a difference in the rubber (maybe that's a good thing?)

As mentioned, De Soto (and some others) use limestone-based foam instead of Yammamoto. That being said, almost every wetsuit is lined with a nylon jersey material so there is almost no neoprene-to-skin contact.
