I have a pair that I just pulled out of my closet after several years of gathering dust. When I last used these I had Speedplay pedals so I had that UCS3 attachment. I now switched to old Look pedals and was wondering if I still need to use that UCS attachment?

Dan, I located my old insert. This is probably a stupid question, but why cannot you simply screw the looks directly to the shoe, I'm not sure what the insert's purpose is exactly. It also appears you need longer screws if using with Look. Am I missing something?

You can, with longer screws. But ... depending on the clear placement and shoe size, it may arc the cleat, which will prevent it from engaging. You can shim the cleat to fix this problem. I rode my Carnacs like this for years.
