Can I check if anyone had replaced the front brake caliper of an E114 with an off the market caliper like SRAM Red, Dura Ace or KCNC? Are they compatible? Any issues with fit and function?

My front brake caliper broke during my morning ride today. The entire cable pulled out while I was descending a hill and applying pressure on the front brake. I thought it was a case of not tightening the cable sufficiently but upon closer examination, I found that the screw thread for securing the cable to the caliper is badly damaged.

Any advise would be appreciated.
