Aero Helmets and Heat
As there have been lots of aero helmet threads lately, I thought I would keep up the trend. My question is how hot are these helmets? Does the aero difference make up for the dehydration, etc.? Are the helmets that don't cover your ears (sytonopen) cooler?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I think there was a thread just a couple days ago about this. tai mentioned that he wears the LG Rocket and notices that it is hotter, BUT it doesn't affect him at all. He lives in Hawaii so if he's okay with it, I don't think it would be a problem.

One last bit, the only problem I would see with wearing one is if you are from an area that is always cold and then race somewhere super hot.

It's really a matter of getting use to. I use an LG prologue, in Singapore (where the humidity exceeds 90%, and the temperatures never dip below 80), and I don't sweat any more in the helmet than I do in a normal helmet. Used it in an Oly distance tri and a slightly longer distance tri (60km bike) with no ill effects.
