At first, I thought this was a ridiculous idea. I was ready to flame away... but we all know these endeavors are impossible. So many variables, so i'll just look at the end approximation:

If you say 40km takes you 60 minutes. And you think you'll save 6 minutes... that's 10% faster, right? You gain 2.5 mph by going all aero-geeked out. Sure, why not.

Isn't that what Specialized claimed in their tests? 10% faster?

I always thought you got more time from an aero helmet than aero wheels.

a tri bike worth 86 seconds? which tri bike? compared to which road bike? are we assuming you have aero bars on each or not?

a fit worth 126 seconds? maybe if your fit is horrible to begin within.

aer wheels - compared to what wheels? in what conditions?

hydration system? which one?

apparel? going from what to what?

nutrition bike mount? thats gonna slow ya down not speed ya up, and you dont need it for 40k
