Zwift and TR power doesn't match??
I've been noticing that when I run TR and Zwift concurrently, my power numbers aren't matching up. Has anyone had this issue?

A couple of notes:
-both are set to instantaneous power
-Using Powertap P1 pedals
-Zwift is on PC connected via ANT+ dongle
-TR is on my phone connected via Bluetooth
-batteries in pedals were just changed
-firmware in pedals is up to date

Could there be a discrepancy between the power that is transmitted via BT vs ANT+?
Is there a way to know if both pedals are connected vs just one?

In the big picture does it matter? Do you support your family by earning money racing? Are you age group national caliber? if not train and have fun.

1. Aliasing because of sample rate?
2. Auto pause?
3. Something else? (I'm out of ideas)

1. That could possibly be it.
2. Doubt it cause I've been monitoring it for a few weeks now.

Powertap pedals over Bluetooth only pair the left pedal. If you're transmitting one via Bluetooth and the other via ANT you're going to get separate readings bc ANT will transmit total power from both pedals rather than doubling the left (I think)

Interesting. Is that a bluetooth thing or something specific to the pedals?

Pretty sure it's specific to the pedals and their interaction with Zwift/TR. I'm not technically knowledgeable about it though so I'm not sure of the exact cause. I ran into the issue a few yrs ago as I was always reading higher on zwift than my 520 - after several questions to both Zwift and powertap we figured it out, and it's now a widely known occurrence.

Ok, cool. That was easier to clear up than I thought. Thanks!

It's an issue with the Bluetooth FTMS standard. I think there is now a fix for it, but I'm not sure whether Zwift has adopted it yet.

Well I've got Zwift connected through ANT+ and TR through Bluetooth.

Technically it's actually just an issue with how PowerTap implemented it in their pedals.

For Vector 3 & Favero Assioma pedals, you can multi-channel the two sides individually over a single connection, so the world is whole again.
