Was really looking forward to the release of the new foot pod calibration protocol having recently taken to using Zwift on treadmill runs. Using the old calibration format I was usually within ~.1 mph between treadmill/Garmin/Zwift. On the new protocol using three different speeds the speed that Zwift reads isn't even close to reality.
I run on a SOLE F83, which doesn't change speeds quickly enough to keep up with the way the new Zwift 3-speed calibration process requires speed changes. This is made even worse by the fact that after setting an initial speed, it drops by .9/mph and then finally increases by almost 2mph for the final calibration (ex- run for 40 sec @ 6.5mph>40 sec @ 5.6mph>40 sec @ 7.4). All of these speeds are only held for 40sec. My treadmill won't even gain the final full 2mph by the time the 40 sec. has elapsed.
So now instead of with .1mph it's all over the place. When I set treadmill to 6.5mph Zwift thinks I'm running at 7.5mph (which is odd since the first 40 sec. of calibration I begin @ 6.5 and it gets the full 40 sec. to calibrate). If I increase to 7mph then Zwift jumps to 8.5mph. If I drop down to 6mph then Zwift reads it at 5.4 or so.
Is there a way to restore previous versions of iOS apps? I'd take the old version of calibration and being within 1/10th mph any day over what I've currently got. Was really enjoying running with Zwift, so hopefully a new update will be able to address this either by improving the new 3 stage process (maybe allow for a period of time between each speed to allow treadmills to catch up, or a longer duration that the treadmill calibrates at each speed, or both...) or allowing the option of the old 1-speed calibration.
