Zipp disc vs. Hed disc: feedback appreciated
Quote | Reply
Anyone compared these 2 in weight/ride/feel/value, etc. I can get the Hed for a great deal and there's no way I can afford a new Zipp (so I don't know why I'm even posting this :) . The website says it ways 5 lbs (the Stinger, tubular as well as the Jet, clincher, both 5 lbs). Zipp 900 (2009 version) says weighs 936 grams on the Zipp site. 936 grams = 2.06 lbs, so something isn't right. Any feedback on the Hed Jet disc vs. the Stinger disc (other than your normal tubular vs clincher debate).
I appreciate it, thanks.

I do believe the Heds are slightly heavier than the Zipp, but definitely well under 5 lbs. I have an older Hed, and I think it's supposed to be in the 1200-1300g ballpark, or a little under 3 lbs. Dunno where the 5 lb figure came from, maybe shipping weight?

Says on their shopping page. It is a misprint.

Weight of the HED Stinger FR Tubular is 1040g = 2.293 pounds or 36.7 oz
