Zipp Hub 88 Maintenance Question

Once you tighten the non drive side (threaded) pinch nut with the axle end cap in the axle assembly....Should that axle end cap pull out with just a little bit of effort???? I barely move it and it comes out and the pinch nut is tighten to the max.

The drive side does not have this problem.

I wonder if the non drive side pinch nut is defective.

Mine pull off with a bit of tugging. It's just the o-ring that holds that end cap in place. The pinch nut should only be holding the threaded collar onto the axle in order to set bearing preload.
