Does anyone have the Zipp gear bag? http://www.zipp.com/...ries/zipp-gear-bag/#

I'm looking at new bags to replace my TYR Convoy Transition bag http://www.tyr.com/...sition-backpack.html

If you have it, what do you like and not like about it?

Ogio Endurance 9.0 is a much better bag. I had the zipp before and the ogio is much better.

I have the new Zipp bag and it's great! Plenty of room for all your gear as well some good vents so the smell doesn't stay in the bag. Good separate compartments and well organized. I think it's a great bag.

That's nice too. They are just better built, more logical layout and compartments, more features, easier to carry

Easier if you just go to the ogio website and check for yourself. They've got pictures and videos.

Oh....well in that case, I would say the major issue with the zipp bag, apart from the less pockets and neat stuff, is the fact that the inside is black. The ogio is silver. If you've ever tried to find stuff in poor lighting conditions, you will appreciate the inside of the ogio bags.

I paid $180 for my TYR Convoy bag 3 years ago and it was worth every dollar

Convoy sucked for me; broken zippers and the main compartment lacked security so that items often moved and were lost within the main compartment/chasm. Went for it for its size, but too much size and poor execution = regretful performance.
Amphipod was too small.
Went with desoto.

I've always just used a medium 3 compartment duffel. Big enough for anything I ever need at a race. Priced between free and $40 for my current one (Nike, it's a year old, use it every single day). The one before the current one lasted 4 years or so, I should get the same out of this one.

I just don't get how a $150 bag is a good investment. It would have to last me at least 12 years of daily use, and by then I'd probably just want a new bag.

I thought it was worth the money but there are some things that can definitely be better. I like the Ironman OGIO M9. I also like the look of the Zipp gear bag.

BryanD, I'm away for work right now but I know on the Zipp website they have some pics as well on Google for pictures. If that doesn't work for you, send me an email next Wednesday and I'll send you some......

I spent a lot of time reviewing bags two years ago before I decided on this Zipp bag. No regrets.....bag is high quality.....zippers are solid....pockets that are sensibly designed....just the right size for all my stuff. I like the shape.....opens from the top and easy to find all equipment....really doesn't need a light colored interior. Also, it doesn't take up a lot of ground space at transition when unpacking (although I always leave it elsewhere during the race). Can also use as a carry on if travelling by plane. Only possible negative could be if strapped on back while riding bike, the square shape may not feel as comfortable as others (but I never use that way). There should be other older threads on this if you "search". Highly recommend this bag.
