Was just putting new 404/808 combo on bike for race this weekend. What is the scoop with the dust caps on the front hub (88, I believe, 2012 wheel set)? It has a sort of an aero profile that does not fit (well) in my admittedly oldish fork, which I think is an old Alpha Q aero, maybe a TS-20, one of the ones that came with a roughed up surface that supposedly improved airflow, since refinished by my friends at Calfee to match my frame. Are these dust caps supposed to be aimed into the wind to reduce drag? Mine tilt up at about 30 degrees because of the cutout in the fork, and I think I might be clamping on to them a bit when I tighten the quick release (finish is marred when I took them out). Can't find anything about this new hub feature in the books that came with the wheels or on the Zipp website ...
