Zipp 60 free hub catching: what causes the burrs?
I have some Zipp 60 wheels which whilst 2-3 years old now (I think) they don't have a lot of miles on them. About 6 months or so ago I was out riding and my chain started trying to throw itself off when free wheeling. I didn't know what was causing it so had to ride it like a fixie.

Eventually I pulled the hub apart ad tried cleaning it all out and regreasing the pawls etc. It was then that I noticed the ratchet ring on the internal hub had one or two of the saw toothed teeth almost worn off. I figured that was the issue and took it to a bike shop to get fixed. They ended up telling me it was the around one of the pawls where a burr had formed (see below). If this is the true origin then what causes this? In other words is it possible the ratchet ring caused the pawl issue and because they haven't replaced the ring it might happen again?

Are the marks on the outer free hub (which are at three equally spaced locations around the barrel, also related to this?

PS Sorry about rotated pic couldn't figure it out at short notice
