Zipp 404s for Steelhead
Just borrowed some yesterday for the race and went out for a short ride this morning, but felt REALLY slow. I checked everything and there is no rubbing or other problem that I could see, so I am thinking about switching back to my Mavic Ksyrium SLs. Any thoughts on why a first time aero wheel user would feel this way after a ride? Should I go back to what I know? Not sold on the advantages of aero wheels at the moment......

I race on 404s and it feels like I'm ridding with bricks tired to my seat post when I go back to my Easton training wheels.

I've also ridden TTs with both sets of wheels in near identical conditions on the same course and the 404s show me consistently over 1mph avg faster. For reference I normally avg 25+ over 20-40k. There is not much improvement over acceleration but when you get up there and start cruising there is definitely a difference.

But then there is a golden rule.... Nothing new on race day!
