XTRI World Championship
At the Celtman pre-race meeting this afternoon, they announced an XTRI world championship to be held as a part of Norseman.

Celtman tomorrow will have the first four qualifying athletes, with the top two overall winners from each the men and women.

At each XTRI race, there will also be 8 random finishers drawn to gain entry into the regular Norseman event, thus circumventing the lottery.

That’s about all the information I could gather from the slide and what they said at the meeting. Discuss amongst yourselves.

Apparently this is going on :

http://xtriworldtour.com

Nice series of mountain / difficult races.

Start list of this XTRI World Champ is now, and not finalized : http://events.racetracker.no/...r296cJvtoBg#6_48BE0D

Allan Hovda included, of course :-)

This 2019 World Champ will be part of the Norseman 2019 (August 2019)

Make sense for me to have these kind of races separated from IM or Xterra

Not sure why Embruman, Altriman (french mountain LD tris) not part of this ?

Saw this in December, top 4 overall will get entry into Norseman and then 4 spots chosen at random. Tentatively penciling in Alaska to my race plans next year.

2024: Bevoman, Galveston, Alcatraz, Marble Falls, Santa Cruz

No lottery yet for Alaska, you could still sign up for this years last time I looked. 89 men finished last year. I would have to go back and check my emails but I think its only top 2 with slots to Norseman and then 2 that are lottery slots btw other 87 finishers. The swim looks very cold, bike looks like similar elevation to say Kona, my brother (lived around that area) said winds can be quite gusty, and the run will be quite hard. Sounds fun right???
