X-lab torpedo fit in any cage?
I use a standard xlab gorilla cage between my aero bars, which is zip-tied.

Can I just buy the xlab torpedo refill bottle and stick it in my BTA cage or do I need that full setup torpedo kit?

Also, how does the straw work on that system.. I'm planning to put EFS liquid shots in the bottle.. will this work?

It fits most standard cages that hava a split at the top for the "dolphin tail" straw holder to pass through. Almost any cage mount will do. The gorilla does hold it pretty tight. Straw can be positioned in the front of or behind the refill cap and can extend to the middle or the read of the bottle. Candice of Xlabs might chime in with more detail.

As the PP said, any cage with a gap in the top will work. You could use a cage with a closed top (std. aluminum cage, specialized rib cage, etc.) if you unscrew the dolphin tail, you just need to leave the straw up or find another way to secure it (velcro).

It has a bite valve just like Camelbacks. EFS shot seems a bit thick.

The Torpedo bottle is compatible with the Gorilla cage and in fact any XLAB cage. The only issue I see if you buy the Refill Kit, would be the zipties interfering with the bottle fitting securely. We haven't tested the Torpedo bottle with a cage ziptied as we have had poor experience of zipties breaking. Can you email me a picture of how you have it ziptied and I can give you a better answer?

There are 2 straw holes on top of the bottle for your location preference. One in the front above the refill area, and another behind the refill area. The straw that is included with the Refill Kit has a bite valve. If you prefer not to use the bite valve, you can cut it off. If you do, make sure you cut the bite valve first, before cutting the other end of the straw for length preference. The Dolphin tail on the top of the bottle allows you to tuck the straw when you are not using it.

For EFS liquid shots, as long as you dilute it there should be no issues in using EFS with the Torpedo.

Hi Candice,

Thanks for the response. It turns out I have a Torpedo cage. I think the zipties are done pretty well and shouldn't interfere with the bottle...

However, I thought I'd give Torpedo 400 system a try since it has more adjustments vs my zipties, and also a garmin mount. Will let you know how that goes :)
