Workouts in a Binder Question?

My wife and I started this workout the first of the year.After doing this workout for awhile I have some questions.

1,We're doing the "Main set A". On page 17 it says If training for a sprint-distance Tri. Now why is our workout longer than the Main set B? I would think our workout would be shorter but faster for a person training for a sprint as oppose to a person training for a half Ironman.

2,On the warm up,lets say it says 300SW 300K 300PULL. Now my wife would go from swim to kick to Pull without stopping.I told her this is just the warmup, what the hurry.Was I wrong?

3,These workouts are tuff.When I start out I can meet my time goals but as the laps go by I start having trouble meeting my time. Now if it says a 15 sec.rest between 4X200 is it better to take a longer rest,say 30 sec. and then still hit my time, or stick with the 15 sec. and miss my time by a couple sec.? Or should I not worry about it and just try to hit my numbers as close as I can?
