Where to ship with bike flights
Just curious where you guys ship your bikes to when shipping with bike flights. Do you send it to a FedEx store? Your hotel? I don't think I'd really trust hotel staff to look after my bike & box since I'd want it to arrive a day or two before I did. If you ship it to one of the FedEx stores, do you call them ahead of time? I'm curious to hear some of your experiences

This year I shipped to a FedEx office, 2 years ago I shipped to hotel. Both times worked out perfectly. I did notify them of the arrival of my bike and made certain it was OK with them to hold it for a few days.

I used them for Indian Wells 70.3 last Dec and this week for a tri camp in CA as well.
I found a FedEx location that will hold the bike (they do for 5 days typically) and ship it there so I just show up and show ID to get it.
I drop it off at a FedEx shipping location at home to go out.

Coming back I ship it from same FedEx location to my home FedEx to hold til I get home.

Bikeflights handles it all. Just find the right FedEx locations. Bikeflights will even help out online with chat to find the right place to ship it.

No hotels handle it.
It does not sit outside for porch pirates.
ID's must be shown to get it.

I also ship to arrive a day or 2 earlier than i need it to not cut it close with the 5 day hold window.

So far so good.

And, if you really need some entertainment, recorded packing my QR PR6 this week for the shipping - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kEz-tdeXHbs
