Are you saying she decided to get good at one sport instead of being mediocre at three? 
she was bad at 1, mediocre at 1, and really good at the third.
As a Junior triathlete he was very good. Both he and Lance were the big Texan hopes.
Chann though never really delivered on the road (relatively speaking of course), but managed to win the US Pro title in 2002 finishing second behind Canadian Mark Walters.
Raced on smaller teams such as Schroeder Iron in 2003 and then went back to triathlon. But there he really had no big results to speak of.
