What's with the red ribbons?

I've noticed quite a few roadies in San Diego lately who are sporting red ribbon under and behind their saddles. What's the significance of it?

I'm in Taiwan, so I wouldn't know, but if I had to guess it's a Slowman drive: Forget Arnold, Vote for Lew!

I think it's the standard MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) ribbon which you might also see on some car antennas An SDBC rider (Cecy Krone) was killed by a drunk driver a couple of years ago and I assume fresh ribbons are handed out each year at her memorial ride (which happened to be yesterday, the ribbons you have seen being from previous years or other tragedies)
