Water thermometer recommendations
This is sort of an odd request. But going to try and crowdsource a few recommendations on a good small accurate thermometer for a lake/pond. I think open water season is going to come sooner for us this year, but some bodies of water are still iced over. Not for long though! I will need a good reliable, not-easy-to-break thermometer to use within the next few weeks. Something small I can carry in a bike jersey (I can bike to my swim spots to test them).

Thanks in advance!

That's funny :-) I have something like this in a box somewhere in the basement.

Ha! Good one!

Well if Slowtwichers don't have a recommendation then I'll probably get a pool thermometer like the one a neighbor has on their docks in the summer. But not sure how accurate it was. In October I know the water temp was colder then 70F.

I guess if my face stops stinging I can keep swimming.

I always use these things to determine how long I should swim (e.g. if the sea is over 26°C I will not swim for anything over 5-7 km).

Bejeeebus. I'd be scared of being harpooned by you if you're swimming in the sea with one of those 😱

Thanks in advance!

I use my skull. Sometimes, if I know the temperature, I might not get in.
