Voluntary recall of some Wolf forks
This applies ONLY to some customers who have purchased a 2003 Soloist Team or SuperProdigy. Please note that since this voluntary recall is done under CPSC guidelines, there are very strict rules we have to follow regarding the information we send out and when we send it out. More information will be coming out in the next few days regarding the exchange of the forks, but it will happen very quickly.

The first replacement forks will ship out today, we have about 2/3 of the replacement forks on hand andthe rest will be available in a few weeks. If you want to do your part to make this go smoothly and quickly, what the dealer needs to start the proces right now is just your name and telephone number. They probably have that on file so you need not do anything, but if you think they may not have that information, please call them to make sure you're on the list (At Cervelo we know exactly which dealer has purchased how many bikes with the recalled fork, but obviously we do not know who they sold them to).

VOLUNTARY RECALL OF CERTAIN "WOLF" CARBON ROAD FORKS UNDER THE RULES OF FAILURE OF THE U.S. CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY COMMISSION

Cervélo’s internal testing has shown that some of its “Wolf” carbon road forks have a potential for cracking in the crown area. Although the “Wolf” carbon road fork passes the standard industry fork tests, a different test revealed a problem not uncovered by the standard fork tests.

Cervélo has since made changes to its production process to prevent this problem from occurring, and the currently produced “Wolf” carbon road fork passes the new test as well as the standard industry fork tests.

Cervélo has decided to voluntarily recall the first batch of “Wolf” forks, which can be recognized by the 17cm “Cervélo” logo on both fork legs. Later “Wolf” forks, which do not display this problem and are not part of the recall, can be recognized through the “Wolf” logo on the fork legs.

The affected “Wolf” carbon road fork was assembled on the 2003 model year Soloist Team and Super Prodigy bicycles/framesets. These forks will be voluntarily recalled under the rules of failures of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”).

Please stop riding the recalled “Wolf” carbon road fork immediately. Your Cervélo dealer will contact you shortly with information about exchanging the fork.
