I'll second the great interview comment.

I was lucky enough to have Pablo be a substitute masters swim coach about a dozen times sometime around 1990 in the Bay Area. Such a great guy, I wish I would have taken more advantage of his coaching back then.

I took some private lessons a few years ago with Lauren, as well as swam or shared lane next to her on multiple occasions. She is just the nicest person, as in make you feel like a curmudgeon level of nice. Watching her swim in a pool can be a little deceptive, as she doesn’t disturb the water or seem like she’s putting in any effort (which she is). Then she swims by you...and you get sucked into her draft and get towed down the pool. It was always a little comical (or depressing) to see her and Barrett mirrored up in the pool training together and the rest of us just flapping around.

A definite talent for sure, and she is a smart racer. That is so rare these days to actually be able to see how smart someone races ironman, we have so many just go out and hammer types who learn the hard way a little at a time..

IT sounds like she just needs some more bike and run miles, but mostly how to fuel on those long and hot segments. Hopefully she finds the right nutrition, it can be an Achilles heel for long distance athletes to have that fueling problem.
