US Olympic Marathon trials

Rooting for Jim Walmsley. Just because he’s an Ultra running stud.

Anyone know a livestream link for those outside the US?

Apparantly the link I posted for tracker include my athlete selection... so you know I also expect Walmsley to be in, but it is going to be a very difficult challenge, facing serious competition :-)

Edit : I added Des Linden !

I live 2 hours south of Atlanta and was tempted to go. The course is challenging with a lot of elevation. Walmsley should benefit from that I would think.

Yes, it's going to be great. Hard to believe I know a couple people running. Looking forward to seeing how Walmsey does as well.

Not sure on posting rules for these kind of things but here’s a mile by mile elevation/pace analysis since the hills are expected to be pretty significant.

I'm watching on the NBC app. It's like amateur hour for the coverage. 😞

wow, what an ignorant, tone deaf, un-self aware, and journalism-free segment on Nike. Paid commercial essentially.

It would be the easiest thing in the world to just have a constant Picture-in-Picture going during commercials and all the other unneeded segments...

I almost vomited, had to turn it off. Turned back on a few mins later and they were STILL going on about it.

Yeah if all the overhead coverage is commercial brakes this would be completely unwatchable. It's like every 5 min if that.
I don't miss network tv at all.

I'm looking at the World Track Championship at the same time.

So, when heavy bullshit is going on, just turn sound off and look the other screen :-)

You're seeing about as much of the race as us then. Currently we're watching a commentator talking with an ex-olympian sprinter about his glory days. With no split screen.

Hard to tell even with the broadcast going ... they show about 30 seconds of running and do 4:30 minute segment on something needless, go to commercial, repeat.

I love this Schrader dude. He'll blow up for sure, but he's just going for it.

And now we've been staring at a Ferris wheel, listening to wind noises for 3 minutes. This is actually f'king absurd.

It's on NBC proper, is the coverage different on the Olympic Channel?

A lot more men wearing the AlphaFly than women, at least up front.

Washed up footy player turned Triathlete.
