And that the full report is in the thousands of pages. I guess that, along with what we're hearing is a "bombshell" that came in 15 days ago, which is the primary reason for the delay. I dont pretend to know what it is, but I hear its big. We'll all see when it becomes available. I wish it wasn't a busy work day.

Schitt....I wish I only had a busy work day. Currently in China and hitting the wall.....I'm gonna miss all the fireworks and will be left with a 300+ post thread to wade through once I wake up.

However, I also forgot my Ambien and have been sleeping like schitt, so it may well be good entertainment when I wake up due to jet lag. Wink

Between FL book and TH book, plus all thats been discussed what more does anyone expect? Unless the pope supplied him with drugs or the epo came from squeezing it out of baby harp seals I don't see any big block busters.

How can we have a 300+ thread about something/someone that can't be mentioned?

Maybe a bunch of deleted potentially 300+ threads?

I live in the same area as a big name pro. His family is spreading rumors that he is going to come out and agree to testify. I'm pretty dissapointed in that. I just don't see the point now, but I guess it is what it is.

I think there's is a lot of that going on. When the damn burst and the riders knew that someone was going to stand up for them, things loosened up considerably. Daniel Benson is now reporting the total evidence is over 3000 pages. What is contained within will certainly be interesting to learn. The expected 200 page summary will have the highlights, but I hope the full thing gets made available as well.

They have a couple choices: Keep denying and look like lying sacks (the Armstrong approach) or make some sort of mea culpa (the Mark McGwire approach). Now is the perfect time to do it because all eyes will be on Armstrong. The smart play is to throw Armstrong, Bruyneel, and the doctors under the bus. All of those charged by the USADA have reached their "sell by" date and no one in cycling wants them around anymore.

Maybe they will all take up some special cause and will become immune to criticism. We'll have cancer, autism, global warning and Huntington's bracelet galore. I don't care XXX doped, they are curing feline leukemia!

Here is what is going to happen. The report is going to come out. The small minority of people like you are going to dance with glee and talk about how much you hate Lance. The larger minority like me will read it and still not really care. The vast majority will have no clue anything happened and keep loving Lance. Lance will keep living his life and not give a fuck.

you obviously don't understand the deal with Lance.... this IS his life. He will never stop. He and others keep saying "he's just living his life" but all I see is an unbreakable chain between him and the controversy he fuels and thrives on.

"How can we have a 300+ thread about something/someone that can't be mentioned? "

as we spoke, a couple of weeks ago, when this report comes out, assuming something substantive comes out, we will have a thread - ONE thread and i'm fine with this being that thread - that discusses it.

discusses it, not has a lavender room food fight over it. i have every expectation that some of those involved in this thread will not be able to control themselves.

carry on!

You're right. He'll never stop doing exactly what he wants to because in the end he really doesn't care what any of the very vocal minority who hate him say or think. The huge majority could care less what he may or may not have done and those are the only ones he needs. The vast amount of angst he stirs up with some never fails to amuse me.

Edit: Big brother is watching :)

USADA statement about the release.

http://www.usada.org/...gationstatement.html

Quote:
The evidence of the US Postal Service Pro Cycling Team-run scheme is overwhelming and is in excess of 1000 pages, and includes sworn testimony from 26 people, including 15 riders with knowledge of the US Postal Service Team (USPS Team) and its participants’ doping activities. The evidence also includes direct documentary evidence including financial payments, emails, scientific data and laboratory test results that further prove the use, possession and distribution of performance enhancing drugs by Lance Armstrong and confirm the disappointing truth about the deceptive activities of the USPS Team, a team that received tens of millions of American taxpayer dollars in funding.

Fifteen riders. Twenty-six witnesses.

Re: Daniel Coyle tweet [AmaDablam] [ In reply to ]

t took tremendous courage for the riders on the USPS Team and others to come forward and speak truthfully. It is not easy to admit your mistakes and accept your punishment. But that is what these riders have done for the good of the sport, and for the young riders who hope to one day reach their dreams without using dangerous drugs or methods.

These eleven (11) teammates of Lance Armstrong, in alphabetical order, are Frankie Andreu, Michael Barry, Tom Danielson, Tyler Hamilton, George Hincapie, Floyd Landis, Levi Leipheimer, Stephen Swart, Christian Vande Velde, Jonathan Vaughters and David Zabriskie.

WOW.

Saying he won't stop doing what he wants is absolutely true. Saying he doesn't care what people think couldn't be farther from the truth. During one of the events over the weekend, he made a point to bring up the sanction even when he wasn't asked about it. Plenty of times he could have avoided it and didn't; when indirectly asked he came right at it. He cares, and he doesn't like it. The sanctions, the haters; he holds grudges. It's the same thing that made him great on the bike course (ok one of the two things), that makes him that way in other things. I'm not attacking him merely stating opinions based on observation.

All eleven of them are seriously flawed characters, which should negate the trustworthiness of their statements.

Frankie: you now work for Bicycling magazine, you worthless fred
Michael Barry: Canadian. Enough said
Tommy D: gangster wannabe. The kid is confused.
Tyler: You need a hair stylist
Big George: his company delayed the shipment of my team's cycling kits. Bastard
Floyd: Time trialing in a t-shirt? You disgrace
Levi: oh look, a garden gnome.
Swart: who the hell are you?
VdV: I hear he has ties to the Cinzano team in American Flyers. Can't be trusted.
Vaughters: sideburns. shudders
Zabrieski: silly hipster wannabe

And the one guy who didn't give evidence, a certain Mr. Kevin Livingston, should be applauded for doing the right thing so he can run his business out of the Mecca of Cycling, aka Lance's shop

in case it wasn't obvious, in jest.

Re: USADA/Lance Armstrong File Official Thread [mattreg3] [ In reply to ]

A large question is how will Lance react to all of this? Will he attempt to discredit everyone that rode with him on that team? The life boat that he and Bruyneel are sitting in is getting smaller and smaller. Will Lance ever make a statement that acknowledges any of the items that will come out in the report today?

Shaping up to be a very interesting day on the doping news front.

Well, that's a good start at least. Should be interesting to see how this plays out over the next few days and will be interesting to see comments from the others who have been suspended. I'm hoping this thread stays civil so it stays up and can update the situation as it continues to unfold.
