Tri suit washing
Hi folks
I'm a few wears in on a new tri suit.
The wash instructions say rinse with clean water only. No machine. No detergent.
Presumably that's to avoid degrading any surface coating.on the material.
A Zone 3 Lava.

Anyone got any experience with anything like this as far as garment care is concerned ?
To me it's going to become a rank minging bio-hazard after another race or two without at least some soap suds in a hand wash.

I like Chamois Butt'r Kit Wash. Works for wetsuits, speedsuits, cycling and tri apparl, plus other technical apparel.
10- pack, so you can take when you're traveling,
or 16 oz bottle

I have a separate load for my workout clothes. That includes tri suits. I toss it in with the rest of the athletics and hang dry it. No issues after several years.

I’ve always washed mine in the sink with shampoo or dishwashing liquid. Hang dry

No issues ever

Same thing I do too...no issues. Machine seems to be fine. Besides, after a few years you may get bored of the kit & want something different. Elastic does degrade with time anyhow, so you may lose "support" in key areas.

If it’s a really nice suit, delicate cycle in the machine, in a mesh bag. I fill the rest of the load with similar stuff ( no jeans, towels etc). Regular detergent but not too much. Hang to dry. There’s no way I would just rinse it with water and call it good... ick.
