TriRig Alpha X BTA Mount and Pad Spacing
Any ideas for a simple bottle cage for the BTA mount on the TriRig Alpha X with the pads spaced close together? Here's a photi. The pads are too close in order to mount a Xlab Gorilla cage. I can move the pads out, but that kind of kills my current position. I thought about some longer bolts w/spacers to get the cage higher. I just need a simple bottle for 40K TTs. Thanks!

The easiest option is just to use some spacers to raise the cage a bit. You can buy some Stand-off spacers from the local hardware store for just a few cents each. And then you’ll want some correspondingly longer M5 bolts to secure the cage.

Use the xlab boss shifter plate thingy and offset the cage so it’s behind your pads enough to clear?

This is exactly what I have on mine. 1 cm spacers left over from a tv wall mount kit and M5 bolts that are just about flush with the underside of the plate they are threaded in to.

Xlab aero TT bottle would provide you with a funky solution ...

Interesting idea. I actually have the Arundel aero bottle I could use.

Thanks for all of the tips. Going through one of my drawers, I found the Zipp BTA mount for my old bars. I remembered the center part being thicker to hold the cage screws. Turns out the screw holes went all of the way through and it was just about the right height. Used some longer M5 bolts and it mounts perfectly. Plus, it has a Garmin mount!

I have a same P2 bike and I use that Zipp mount as well. It's on the heavy side, but I like it.
I don't like BTA system ghetto rigged with velcros. This is one solid and reliable BTA mount.
