Last two years I did IMTX. I started around the holidays and primarily followed Don Fink's intermediate plan, varied for work/travel. I was happy with my fitness levels heading into the race. After that I would recover and then do a couple Olympics in the fall. I took a new job and will only be able to do IMFL this year. Suggestions on how to structure the spring until I start the IM build? For background, I was a runner in college and my FTP is around 290 right now (was about 310 last ITMX). My swim is atrocious so I plan on focusing on that for the next couple months but not sure if I should focus on putting in miles for basework of increasing FTP. I'll do a couple of tris in the spring/summer but am really focused on IMFL as it will likely be my last IM for several years with my kids getting older.
